Stenoplax conspicua Carpenter MS, Pilsbry, 1892

This four inch chiton has a narrow girdle covered with short bristles giving a velvety appearance. There are marginal glassy spicules. Mucro median and prominent. Central areas microscopically granulated and appearing smooth. Lateral areas raised and have sharp radiating ribs. Color of valves is gray green with pinkish dorsal areas. Color of girdle is gray green. (Syn: Stenoplax sarcosa Dall)
