Callistochiton decoratus Carpenter Pilsbry, 1893

This chiton reaches one inch in length. It has a fine scaly girdle. The lateral areas of the median valves have two ribs appearing scalloped near the girdle. The head valve has 11 depressed ribs with the tail valve haveing 9 rounded ribs. The mucro is median. Central areas have longitudinal ribs becoming obsolete near the dorsal ridge. The girdle is cream with light brown bands and the valves are olive buff to dark green.
