
Chaetopleura gemma Carpenter MS, Dall 1879
This three-quarter inch chiton has a narrow girdle with small glassy hairs. The lateral areas have 4-7 beaded ridges with the central areas having 13-15 long beaded ribs becoming obsolete at jugum. The head valve has numerous beaded ridges. The tail valve has depressed mucro. The girdle ranges from light orange to ashy green. The valves also range from bright orange with black tail valve (and white spot) to ashy green with same markings.
