Mopalia swaniiCarpenter, 1864
This two inch chiton has a medium wide girdle which is nearly nude and fleshy with sparse hairs having glassy spines. These hairs are more numerous near the outer margin of the girdle. The mucro is posterior. Central areas have very obsolete cross ribbing which allows only a pitting to be noticed. Lateral areas are slightly raised and faintly defined with nodulose ribbing. The inside is comprised of obsolete diagonal granulated ribbing. The color of the valves is variable: green, white, red, yellow and mottled with any or all of these colors.
