The seeds in 30 singles are Amy Alcini, Chris Mott and Natalie Diroma.  Diroma defaulted in the quarters to Amy Dillingham.  There were 14 entered in the draw.

Alcini, Stacy Williams, Dillingham and Mott reached the semis.  Mott received a bye, then a default to reach the semis.  She then beat Dillingham 1,0 to reach the finals.  Alcini d. Williams in the other semi.

Mott beat Alcini to win the gold, reversing the loss she suffered to Alcini at the 30 hardcourts.  Williams took the bronze.

Doubles: Kerry Young/Sue Rasmussen were the top seeds, followed by Robin Keener/Stacy Williams.  Unseeded were Alcini/Mott. The other semi was between Keener/Williams and Fendig/Foulk (who beat Payne/Dougherty 5,3 in the quarters).

Semis: The spunky "oldsters",  Rasmussen/Young d. Alcini/Mott 1,3; Keener/Williams d. Fendig/Foulk 4,1.

Final: Rasmussen/Young d. Keener/Williams 63 in the third.  It was Young's first tournament in 18 months, and after 2 knee surgeries she was not sure she would ever play again, so she was especially delighted with this win.  Young goes into the 50's in 2000.

3/4: Alcini/Mott d. Fendig/Foulk.

Sue Rasmussen and Kerry Young won the 30 claycourt nationals.
