Chapter History
Josefa Higuera Livermore
Chapter was organized by Sue Overturf and 15 members at large on April 15,
2000. The Chapter took its name from Josefa Higuera Livermore.
Josefa was the daughter of Ramona Bernal
and Jose Loreto Higuera, and the wife of Robert Livermore, for whom the town
and valley were named. Numerous descendants of this couple still live in
the area.
About the DAR
The Society was founded October
11, 1890. There are approximately 190,000 members in 3,022 chapters
throughout the
An applicant for membership
must be no less than 18 years of age. She shall prove lineal bloodline
descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence, served
in the Military, served in the Civil Service or provided other Patriotic
Service.
We meet on the first Saturday of the month, September through May. Meeting time is 9:30 am.
Prospective
members are always welcome.
