Dear Cliff and Mary,
Thanks so much for the update on your move and the book markers! They are wonderful! So how are things with the kitties? Are you still breeding them? Do you have any available? Robert took one look at your business card and wanted yet another one. I really don't know if we ever will get another one ( at least right now) but it was interesting to hear him say it!
I am sending you a picture that was taken recently of those beautiful babies for your scrapbook! Mozart on the left, Mimado on the right. They are soooo different from each other! But BOTH beautiful! Look at Mimado's eyes! The picture is NOT an exaggeration either! His eyes really are that blue!
Well....take care and stay in touch! We love hearing from you both!
Love,
Laura and Robert
( Update to this letter.....they now have two sisters that joined them in Feb. 2001 )

Dear Cliff and Mary,
"Award winning" pictures of the girls! Well, they aren't actually award winning, but we like to think so. These were taken awhile ago but I thought they were precious and that you would like to see them.
Well....you will never believe this, but "little" Scoshi, the runt, has turned out to be not only BIGGER than Nalani, but is also quite BEAUTIFUL!! She has a wonderful coat and is just a lover. She still comes around every evening and every morning for her "lovies" and curls up with us. Nalani never did but she is special as well. We started calling her a "hussey" because she didn't pay all that much attention to us....but all Mimado or Mozart had to do was call and that little girl comes running out of nowhere! She absolutely adores those boys!! Mimado, the "alpha" cat, cleans her and tolerates her. Mozart, the "middle child" is just like Nalani....kind of aloof, can't be bothered but
still....wants lots of attention!!!
Nalani never developed a voice. She opens her mouth to meow and nothing comes out except a little "click" sound at the very end. It's is hysterical. At least that's one less meow we have to listen to at feeding time! Very weird! Scoshi's little meow is very tiny and sweet. Mozart is still the "big boom" guy...as you well remember from the shows he was in!!!
They are all so precious to us. No one else really understands that. People will come to the house to visit and act like they aren't even there. I don't know how that is possible!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I will send you updated pictures soon. You just won't believe Scoshi! Her name means "little bit" in Japanese. I might need to change that....hee hee!
Take care and let us know how things are going for you!
Love,
Laura and Robert

Dear Mary & Cliff,
I thought you might be interested in how our "little Kitty" is progressing. She is doing just great. Clear eyed, very energetic, fierce appetite and always playful. She already seems to be nearly the size of our first Sapphire when she was a year old. We just had our second visit to our veterinarian and she is nearly up to 5 pounds at four and a half months of age. She was pronounced totally healthy with perfect and quite slow heart sounds. A visit to the vet's office usually produces a bit of stress and rapid heart rates in most cats, but not Sapphire. She is a real sweetheart. Very vocal and affectionate. You always get a greeting when you come into the room. At times she is almost puppy-like; gazing into your eyes and meowing gently, following you about and demanding with loud open mouthed sustained crying to be picked up and carried about. She does like to cuddle up and enjoys laps until she gets too warm. Very up close and personal. Very spoiled. We cannot imagine a more loving and sweet natured kitten. Even if she were no more than an ordinary striped alley cat, with a personality like hers, you would have to love her. Her tail and ruff is fluffing up nicely and increasing signs of color is showing on her hips and above her shoulders and her mask is spreading upward towards her ears.
We will keep you posted on her progress. Please keep in touch and the invitation to visit is always good.
With best wishes and Love to you and "Family",
Bill and Elizabeth and of course, Sapphire.
Dear Mary, Cliff
Tom and I couldn't be happier with Cappi. He is just beautiful, and has such a sweet disposition, just like our Manfy. The two of them get along fine-wonderful playmates for each other.
Enclosed picture of our two furry kids.
Always,
Helene & Tom
Mary & Cliff,
The attached picture of Espresso was taken last October. As you can see, he is still a beautiful boy. His color points don't show up too well in the picture, which was taken in the sunlight on my patio. However, he gets more color each day, and you can really see his markings.
His personality is still what it was when he lived with you: loving, cuddly, curious, playful, and into everything. He still loves to be cuddled and to curl up under my bed covers. He's always around and underfoot so I really have to watch open doors and lids (including the clothes dryer and toilet lid). He jumps on the bathroom sink to watch me wash my face and put on make up. He's crazy about Teddy Bear, our other Ragdoll, and the two are almost always together. They play well together, sleep together, and groom each other. espresso likes my Guide Dog puppy, Gander, now 5 months old, but is cautious of his size and strength. However, occasionally, espresso curls up on the dog's bed with Gander when he's sleeping and snuggles with the drowsy dog.
I hope you're both well and that you had a marvelous Christmas celebration. How are all your cats and kittens doing?
Judy
