Mr Halverson was born and raised in Minnesota, earned a BS (biology) from Stanford University in 1975, and an MS (fisheries and allied aquacultures) from Auburn University in 1979.  He is married, with 3 children, all LBHS graduates.   He operated a catfish farm from 1983 to 1995, and has been teaching science at Los Banos High School since 1995.   He enjoys performing music and admiring the natural world.
