Okay, here's the deal. I'm pretty much giving up on this website. I first put it up in 1997 when I was 15 and frustrated that there was pretty much zero Tesla presence on the web ('cept teslaweb). I had alot of "fan" zeal back then. Now that the band's back together, and Teslatheband.com is up (the site covers pretty much all the bases), there's really no need for me to do anything here. I mean, I haven't updated anything for almost a year, and nothing significant for much longer. So I'll just leave what's here up for as long as I'm with the same ISP, maybe someone will find it interesting. Thanks for visiting the site, and for all of the compliments I've received. Keep listening to and supporting Tesla and other real rock n' roll bands!
When Tesla burst into the hard rock
scene in 1986 with their debut album Mechanical Resonance, they were praised
as a hard-working, no bullshit band, winning the "Best New Band" award from
Guitar for the Practicing Musician and Rolling Stone magazines. This band
from Sacramento, California, once
named
City Kidd (it was changed after they decided
it didn't fit their image), went on to release six records, sell millions
of 'em, have two singles in the Top 10, and tour around the world.
Tesla featured Jeff Keith's unique
voice ("..designed to cut through solid steel,.." Hit Parader, August 1997),
the effectively contrasting guitar playing of Tommy Skeoch (with his high-energy,
reckless style playing with plenty of whammy bar) and Frank Hannon (with
his more bluesy, 70's influenced approach), and the powerful rhythm sound
of bassist Brian Wheat and drummer Troy Luccketta.

the band broke up in July 1996. Now they're back, more energized than ever
about playing together again, and ready to kick some ass!

Sorry about the lack of updates here. I've
been pretty busy with, well, life! Hopefully, no one's relying on this
page for news and has found
www.teslatheband.com and
www.teslaweb.com . What's new?
Well, unless you've been living in a cave in Afghanistan, you already
know there's a new double CD live album out, Replugged Live. It kicks
ass! Anyway, I might make some minor updates sometime soon (like putting
Replugged on the albums page and writing a review for the concert coming
up on October 13 at the Memorial Auditorium) but don't count on it in a timely
fashion. I thought I'd make alot of updates this last summer, but that
sure didn't happen. I feel like I'm talking to myself because
I doubt anyone comes here anymore. Anyway, keep rockin'.
I've put some links to new interviews and show reviews in the
Articles section.
Yes, Tesla is on the road! See
Teslaweb for details. Bar7 is
still keeping Jeff and Tommy busy. They played two shows at the end
of last year. Find out more at the Bar7
official site.
What all three of you have been waiting for! My
review of the Tesla concert in Sacramento, the only city that matters
when it comes to Tesla! Just kidding, all you easily offended
people.
AWWW YEAH!!! Tesla will be playing a reunion show October 25 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, headlining 98 Rock's "Jambo-Ween". All five members will be there. Opening bands will be 3 Doors Down (yawn) and Oleander (ugh). It's important to know this is only one show and not a full-fledged "comeback", but hey, I'll take it! Go to Teslaweb for more details.
Statement from Brian Wheat about proposed summer reunion show:
Well, we thought it was gonna happen, but it looks like it ain't gonna happen this summer. We all did say yes to doing the show in July, but we couldn't get the scheduling together. This may look like a big bummer, but it's not... I think now the door is open for the 5 of us to all talk and to talk about doing something when the timing is right....I really think we could do something again someday..... There is a whole lot of interest in the band and you fans have always been great.... So keep up the support for Sofa King, Frank Hannon Band and the Motor....... 'cause no matter how you slice it, the 5 of us will always be family and Tesla :)

| Jeff and Tommy's band (formerly known as Sofa King) has been signed to Sin-Drome Records and have a new CD out. | Brian's band is writing for their next alblum with Troy Lucketta on drums. So basically, they got the Tesla rhythm section in the band! Let's hope they keep this drummer longer than their previous ones! | Well, I guess Moon Dog Mane is no more. Frank's been playing around town in The Frank Hannon Band (which, I guess, is pretty much a jam band playing covers). Read about three of my four M.D.M. concert experiences here, hereand here. |
Wow! Look at those hits soar!
