Welcome! One and all to the Home Page of The Tequila Connoisseur. After carefully considering quality vs. price, I used to put Patron Aņejo at the top of my list. Perfect balance of flavors that stay on the palate! But now...with this 'Tequila boom' and all, it's very difficult to choose just one. Besides, Patron's price has skyrocketed! Some of my favorites are: 1921 Reserva, Don Edwardo, Chinaco, Casta, Lapiz... all Aņejo. (some of these may not be on my taste test page yet) There are some excellent Reposado's too though. Porfidio is one of the best I have tried.The blue ceramic bottle with a very small neck-1 liter bottle(With a 'real' cork...not the new 'compressed' cork look alike...A big difference)...definitely Porfidio's best. I like this better than most Aņejos! Casa Noble is very good too. The key is 100% agave! Some Silvers are excellent too....try Porfidio Triple-distilled! E-mail me your opinions and, or questions. Oh and, 'some' Cuervo is awesome. Like the one at the top of the picture above! (Reserva De La Familia)...very expensive though.
Hot tip! If you put some plain old Cuervo Especial in an oak cask for 1 year, it will taste fairly smooth and amazingly similar to their 'top of the line' Reserva De La Familia!!!
