The Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco

The new Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco opened on August 26, 2002 and is located on Pier 39 at the intersection of The Embarcadero and Beach Street.  Pier 39 is walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf (3 blocks away), The Cannery (5 blocks), Ghirardelli Square (7 blocks), and Aquatic Park (8 blocks).  

Parking at Pier 39

Public parking for Pier 39 is available in a nearby multi-level parking garage.  An elevated pedestrian bridge located on the 3rd level near the elevators will take you directly to Pier 39.  The cost of parking is $6 per hour.  With parking validation (available from HRC SF and other restaurants), you can receive 1 hour free parking, or 2 hours free if departing the garage after 6 pm.  Other public parking lots are available within a few blocks of Pier 39 and will cost between $10 to $15 for all day parking.  Most can be found by looking for temporary street signs and the cost will vary depending on the day of the week and proximity to Pier 39.  Street parking is very limited and controlled by parking meters depending on when you park.  Please carefully read all posted street signs.

Driving Directions to the Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco

Driving from SF International Airport:  Take US-101 north towards downtown SF.  

Driving from Oakland International Airport:  Take I-880 north to I-80 west and over the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge (bridge toll is now $3).  Just after crossing the bridge, exit on Fremont Street.  Turn right on Mission Street (just past Howard Street).  Turn left on The Embarcadero.  As you approach North Point Street, you should see Pier 39 on the right and the multi-level parking garage across the street from Pier 39.

Public Transportation to the Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco

From SF International Airport:  At the airport, take the BART train to SF and exit at Montgomery Station.  The MUNI Historic Street Car "F" Line will take you from Market Street (near all the downtown BART stations) to Pier 39.  The MUNI Bus Lines 10, 30 and 47 will take you from the Caltrain Depot to within 3 blocks of Pier 39.  The street car and bus will cost $1.25 each way (have exact change).  The Cable Car will take you from Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf and cost $3 each way.
