Camp Pacifica
An Outdoor Experience for
Deaf and Blind Children

In July, 1997, we begin our 20th year of providing an outdoor education and recreation program for deaf, hearing impaired, blind, and visually impaired children in our communities. This is our sixth year at the former Skylake Ranch property on Highway 49 between Mariposa and Oakhurst near Awahnee. The 54.5 acre parcel was purchased by the Camp Pacifica Corporation, a California nonprofit corporation, in 1992. The camp runs a two week camp for hearing impaired children and a one week camp for the sight impaired children.

Activities for the campers include swimming, arts and crafts, nature walks, archery, horseback riding, tennis, and BMX bike riding. The campership fee is $300 per week. Every child from District 4-A1 area is accepted.
