FROG PRINCE

The frog is made inside out and rounds are not joined except where specified.
BODY: made in 2 pieces with green yarn
UPPER BODY:
Rnd 1: ch 7, 1 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, 5 sc in last ch. Repeat for other side of ch, ending with 4 sc in beginning ch (18sc). Place marker.
Rnd 2: 1 sc in each sc, increasing 3 sc evenly at each end (24 sc).
Rnd 3: 1 sc in each sc.
Rnd 4: Repeat Rnd 2 (30sc).
Rnd 5: Repeat Rnd 3.
Rnd 6: Repeat Rnd 2 (36sc).
Rnd 7: Repeat Rnd 2 (42sc).
LOWER BODY:
Rnd 1: ch 7, 1 sc in second ch from the hook, sc in next ch, dc in each of next 2 ch, sc in next ch, 5 sc in last ch. Repeat on other side, ending with 4 sc in beginning ch (18st) Place marker.
Rnd 2: 1 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 3: 1 sc in each sc, increasing 3 sc evenly at each end(24 sc).
Rnd 4: Repeat Rnd 3 (30sc).
Rnd 5: Repeat Rnd 3 (36 sc).
Rnd 6: Repeat rnd 2.
Rnd 7: Repeat rnd 3 (42 sc).
Rnd 8: 1 sc in each sc. Sl st in next st. Cut yarn leaving a 24" tail. Use this to sew the two halves together, leaving 12 sc for the mouth opening. Stuff the body.
MOUTH:
With red yarn. Ch 13. Sc in second ch from hook and next 2 ch, hdc in next 6 ch, sc in last 3 ch, ch 1. Repeat along other side of ch, sl st in first sc. Use green and attach to the body with sc. Take one or two stitches at each end of the mouth.
REAR LEGS: green yarn. Make 2 beginning with the front joint.
Rnd 1: ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (8sc).
Rnd 3: 1 sc in each sc.
Rnd 4 *(2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times (12 sc).
Rnd 5-6: sc around.
Rnd 7: *(sc 2 together, sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times (9 sc).
Rnd 8: sc around. Stuff.
Rnd 9: *(sc 2 together, sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times.
Rnd 10: *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times.
Rnd 11: *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat from * 2 times.
Rnd 12-13: Sc in each sc.
Rnd 14: *(sc 2 sc together, sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times.
Rnd 15: *(sc 2 sc together, sc in next sc) repeat from * 2 times. Sl st. Cut yarn leaving a 24" tail. Stuff and sew the leg to the rear of the frog. Take a small stitch on the underside of the leg to make it bend as it should.
REAR FEET:
Use green yarn and make two. Ch 7, sl st in third ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, sl st in first ch, ch 1, turn. *(sc in next 4 sts, ch 3, turn. Sl st in third ch from hook, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in last sc, ch 1, turn) repeat from * once, ending with sl st. Sl st in next 2 sts. Cut yarn leaving 8" and sew the foot to the leg with the toes pointing forward.
FRONT LEGS: green yarn. make 2.
Rnd 1: ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc (8sc).
Rnd 3-4: sc in each sc.
Rnd 5: sc in each sc, increasing 2 sc evenly. Sl st in next sc. Cut yarn leaving 8" length. Stuff, sew to the body.
FRONT FEET:
Use green yarn and make 2.
Ch 6, sl st in third ch from the hook, sc in next 2 ch, sl st in first ch, ch 1, turn. *(sc in next 3 sts, ch 3, turn, sl st in third ch from hook, sc in next 2 sc, sl st in last sc, ch 1, turn) repeat from * once, ending with a sl st. Sl st in next 2 sts. Cut yarn leaving 8" and sew to a front leg with the toes pointing forward.
EYES: Make 2.
Begin with green.
Ch 3, 10 dc in third ch from hook, sl st in top of the first dc. Cut yarn leaving 8" tail. With white yarn ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook, 2 sc in each sc (10sc). 1 sc in each sc around. Cut yarn leaving 10" for attaching. Sew the green part of eye to the white, stuff and sew it to the head. With 2 strands of black embroidery thread satin stitch the pupil of the eye. With 2 strands of white thread make 2 or 3 short stitches for the highlight in the eye.
CROWN: use gold thread and size 3 hook.
Rnd 1: ch 24, join to make a ring. Ch 3 (counts as a dc), 1 dc in each ch around (24 dc), join with sl st.
Rnd 2: ch 3 (counts as a dc), holding back last loop of each dc, dc in next 3 dc, thread over hook and pull through all loops as once. Ch 1 to tighten (cluster made). Ch 4, *(holding back last loop of each dc, dc in next 4 dc, thread over hook and pull through all loops at once, ch 1 to tighten, ch 4) repeat from * 4 times, ending with sl st in tip of first cluster.
Rnd 3: ch 1, *(in next loop make 3 sc, ch 3, sl st in last sc [picot made], 2 sc) repeat from * 5 times ending with sl st in first sc.
(OPTIONAL: If using gold braid to make the crown, stitch the ends together to form a circle.) Decorate the crown with beads or pearls as desired and sew the crown to the head of the frog. Tie shoestring bows with the ribbons and attach to the front or the side of the frog.
