Booties

MATERIALS:
Approx. 1 oz Bernat Sport Weight yarn
Steel Hook #6
1 yd. 3/8" Ribbon

SOLE: (make 2)
Ch 20
Rnd 1: 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 3 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, sc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 3 chs. dc in next 3 chs, 9 trc in last ch (toe of sole); working on opposite side of ch, dc in next 3 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, sc in next 3 chs, hdc in next 3 chs, dc in next 3 chs, 3 dc in same ch as first dc. Join with sl st.
Rnd 2 - 5: Sc in ea st around, inc sts as needed at ea rounded end to keep the piece flat. Sl st to join and at the end of last rnd, fasten off.

TOPPER: (make 2)
NOTE: All rows are worked in BACK LOOP ONLY. The loops go down the sides and across the toe section.

Row 1: Ch 14, sc in 7th ch from hook and in ea ch across, ch 1 turn. (8 sc, ch 6 loop)
Rows 2 - 17: Sc in ea sc across, ch 1 turn.
NOTE: Rows 2 - 17 make up the HEEL SECTION.

Row 18: Sc in ea st across, ch 6, turn. (8 sc,ch 6 loop)
Row 19: Sc in ea sc across,ch 1 turn.
Row 20: Sc in first 4 sts, (sc next 2 sts tog)twice, ch 6, turn. (6sc, ch 6 loop)
Row 21: Repeat Row 19.
Row 22: Sc in ea sc across,ch 6 turn. (6sc, ch 6 loop)

Repeat Rows 21 and 22 until there are a total of 20 ch 6 loops. Row 21 will be the last row repeated.
Then fold the piece and sc it tog, using the back loops of the last row completed and the opposite side of the starting chain. Fasten off.

Adjust the top on the sole, making sure that the loops are evenly spaced down the sides and around the toe section. The Topper will stretch to accommodate the sole. The heel section will have NO LOOPS. Pin in place and sc sole to topper. Fasten off.
Weave Ribbon through loops and tie bow at front of ankle. Trim ribbon to desired length.
