About Carlos

Carlos anchors the 7-9 hours along with Barbara. Carlos is the one who tries to bring the show back under control after Mark or Sam has gone off on some wild tangent or gotten a bit risqué. But he doesn't pass up an opportunity to joke around, usually about football or hockey. He does the "Sportstuff" segment which has unfortunately vanished from the 7-9 hours, and been relegated to the 6-7 hour.

Running jokes about Carlos

Carlos is an avid San Diego Chargers fan. Back in college, he made a lamp using a Chargers helmet for the base, and during football season, he brings that in on Mondays to show his support for the Chargers.

Carlos plays the role of Paul Moyer (an anchor on LA's NBC station, KNBC channel 4) when Sam does his newly-established "Paul Moyer Quote of the Day" jokes.

Carlos often gets teased for his clothes - he usually wears jeans - and for his short legs (he calls himself Barney Rubble, in reference to the stubby-legged cartoon character).

Other on-screen appearances

Carlos's most recent appearance was in the TV show 7th Heaven.

Carlos produced a TV show, Comedy Compadres, which featured Latino stand-up comedians.

Other tidbits

Carlos's brother Oscar runs a restaurant in downtown LA, the Fiesta Grill.

Carlos's grandfather invented the margarita.
