About Jim

Jim works at the Pacific Exchange in Downtown LA. Jim is the business reporter, and has four reports during the day (6:15, 6:45, 7:20, and 8:20, with the times varying a bit depending on how much fun the anchors are having). Jim also does business reports for the LA radio station KFWB at about 25 after the hour, so if the Morning News gets to him late, he sometimes has to bail right after he's done and get over to his radio equipment to do his KFWB report.

Running jokes about Jim

When Jim attends a social event with the other Morning News folks (such as a party or concert), he apparently often brings along more than one date. Barbara especially notes this and always brings it up the next day.

You know that scene behind Jim, of the Pacific Exchange floor? That is not a chromakey screen, he really is at the PE. He has a little "perch" up there from which he does his reports. Every couple of months he gets letters asking if the background is real or a picture, and he has to reiterate that it is real.

He and Barbara sometimes flirt when his 7:20 or 8:20 report is done and he throws back to Hollywood.
