Often, an incredible new perspective is gained by taking a step back from day-to-day concerns, drinking in God's creation, learning from God's Word, and just having the chance to talk about life.
In the words of Ray Hawes of Modesto:
"What a glorious creation God has made! Whenever I stand on the rear deck of the Lodge, I am awed by God's creative hand and wisdom. Many, many people have been blessed while at the camp by the Spirit of the Lord and His beautiful creation. Why do we come to camp? e come to draw closer to God by being near His creation. We come so that we can focus on Him and not on the pressures and demands of our too busy lives. We come to be spiritually blessed."
Whether you've never had the chance to enjoy a summer camp or are a veteran camper, we'd love to have you join us sometime. You won't regret the experience.
Youth Summer Camp
Many young people consider our summer camps one of the highlights of their year. Getting to know others in a friendly atmosphere, sharing with those who have similar interests and challenges, seeing friends from last year, and just having fun are some of the great attractions of camp.
Our counselors choose to invest in campers' lives through teaching, games and sports, leading team events, and sharing cabin life. Often, a week or more of vacation is cheerfully sacrificed for the opportunity to make a difference in campers' lives.
Our energetic directors balance a lot of fun with Bible-based teaching throughout the week, using a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, structured and unstructured programs, and chances for whole-camp, small group, and individual participation. They spend months preparing a program that is both exciting and relevant to each age group that visits our campgrounds.
Our counselors and staff come to camp knowing that our efforts will be worth it if just one life is touched or one seed is planted. Even so, God has blessed us year after year with an overflowing of changed lives as He has chosen to work in the hearts of our campers.
