Cherie J. Gierak

The UFO Compendium is the result of 30 years of research into the subject by Cherie Gierak and is intended for use by those serious in the phenomenon of UFO's. The compendium starts in the ancient past and moves forward into the 1980's. The Compendium is a collection of booklets in which each booklet contains from 100 to 150 sightings. • DATE 1897
  • Source Article called UFO Potpourri No. 318 8/23/87 Although some UFO researchers choose to ignore the 1897 Aurora, Texas incident and refuse to consider the implications of the ultra-pure aluminum found there, it is still interesting from a technological viewpoint. Test on the Aurora sample showed it to be pure aluminum except for some specially located iron inclusions. Aluminum of that purity was not produced in the U.S. in 1897 or anytime soon thereafter. If the sample was really from an exploded flying object, than one must speculate how the material was used. Was it part of a propulsion system, power system, or protective layer within the vehicle? Maybe we should focus on the power system. Alcoa reported in the July 1987 issue of the Alcoa Technology Report that they had become the first U.S. producer of ultra-pure aluminum.

The debris in the forest was very similar to the debris at Hiroshima following the airborne explosion of an atomic bomb in 1945. In other words, there was total devastation radiating out from one central point, but at the point of 'ground zero' the destroyed trees still standing while the others radiating out from the central point were felled.

"On the top was a clear glass dome about a foot high with a gold device, like a weather vane, spinning inside." A group of "people" about 4 1/2" tall, slight build, no buttocks, heads topped with short, lush black hair, large dark eyes, heavy eyebrows. One he was later told was a female and she had large, fanged teeth. Each wore a heavy belt with a box-like apparatus attached in front. El claimed to have done battle with one and to have been saved by the others. He also claims to have taken black box from dead alien. He was asked to return the next day and when he did he was told where the aliens were from , a place some 21 light years away. He was also told that this was the beginning of a period of world visits to check on the Earth they colonized eons ago. Another swabbie who had witnessed EL's meeting reported the activity to Naval Intelligence, after which EL was summoned to Intelligence to explain his escapade to a Lt. Lewis. After lengthy interrogation he was forced to surrender the black box and to designate the location of the alien craft. He says that they captured the female and shot down the craft as it attempted to take off. It was towed to San Diego but they never were able to penetrate the crafts metal skin.

The domed object appeared to be about 18-20' in diameter. A Colonel noticed Tex looking through the door and a week or so later Jack Martin lost his job. • Notes There was a sudden explosion and a shower of silver and aluminum flakes, then hot bulky slag like material fell on boat, water and beach. The boys dog was killed by the falling debris and the boys arm was injured. After the explosion the 5 remaining UFOs gained altitude and disappeared. The boat radio was malfunctioning, Dahl gathered debris and took some film. Which he gave to his partner F.L. Crissman The next day Dahl and Crissman visited Maury Island to inspect debris while there another UFO swept across the island. Crissman confirmed. After Kenneth Arnold had his sighting he began the job of investigating the Maury Island incident. But only after insisting on and receiving "credible support". 2 Military Intelligence officers, Lt. F.M. Brown and Captain W. Davidson flew to join Arnold in their B-25 bomber. When Arnold arrived in town he found that a room had been reserved for him in the best hotel in town. When Dahl and Arnold got together Dahl told of being visited by a man who gave Dahl a description of the event that was as if he had been there. And told Dahl, "I know a great deal more about this experience of yours than you will want to believe." Dahl showed Arnold a chunk of the debris, it appeared similar to volcanic rock. The intelligence officers were called in and given some of the debris which they took half heatedly. They gave the impression that they thought this was some sort of a hoax. But a carton of debris was loaded onto the B-25. 20 minutes after take off the plane exploded. The pilot and a military hitchhiker parachuted to safety but Brown and Davidson apparently died in the explosion. It has been suggested that the material in some way belonged to the 'Atomic Energy Commission.' They are alleged to have been over Maury Island to dump radioactive slag and got caught by the witnesses.
