Minutes of Board Meeting

DATE: Tuesday, November 13, 2001

TIME: 8:30 A.M.

PLACE: Stallion Springs Lodge

The meeting was called to order by President Carlos Lillywhite. Additional board members present were Vice President Andy Strong, Treasurer Paul Beckett, Secretary Steve Cherry, Membership and Handicap Chairman Cecil Clark, and Board Member Dick Burris. Club Pro Leon Fourie, Tournament Chairman Tom Crumrine, Social Chairman Ted Andrews and past President Bob Bennett were also present. Susan Kneale represented the Stallion Springs Resort during discussion of Christmas Party options.

SPECIAL AWARD: Cecil Clark presented a plaque to Bob Bennett in recognition of his efforts as Men's Club President. Cecil said that Bob did an outstanding job considering the difficulties that the Men's Club encountered at the beginning of the year.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: Susan Kneale presented a range of menu and entertainment options for the December 15th Christmas Party. The board discussed the options and Ted Andrews will make the final arrangements.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Treasurer Paul Beckett provided an updated report showing a balance of $3283.52 as of October 31, 2001.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Steve Cherry reported that the Mountain Signal newspaper is looking for inputs for their monthly paper. The deadline is the last Friday of the month for the next month's edition. Please give Steve any inputs.

MEMBERSHIP AND HANDICAP CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Cecil Clark reported that the membership currently stands at 140, but that he knows of at least four people who will not renew their membership in 2002. If anyone knows of any others not planning to renew their membership, please let Cecil know. Cecil also said that he would be willing to update the hole-in-one plaques on the course if the Board would provide guidance on who is eligible. The Board decided that the plaques are for members only and that a person's name can appear on each plaque only one time. However, a member's name on a plaque on one hole does not preclude his being listed on another hole.

TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Tom Crumrine distributed next year's tournament schedule. He also solicited help in getting a better turnout for the Member-Guest Tournament next year. This generated considerable discussion and the Board will survey as many Men's Club members as possible to see why they do or do not participate in this event.

CLUB PROFESSIONAL'S REPORT: Leon Fourie thanked all the volunteers who worked so hard to erect the pig fence. There might be also be an opportunity for more volunteer work on tee boxes in the near future.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 A.M. The next meeting will take place at 8:30 A.M. on December 4th, 2001 at the Stallion Springs Lodge.

Respectfully Submitted:

Steve Cherry, Secretary
