Minutes of Board Meeting

DATE: Tuesday, July 1, 2003

TIME: 9:30A.M.

PLACE: Horse Thief Country Club

The meeting was called to order by President Steve Cherry. Board members in

attendance were Vice President Jay Taylor, Secretary Bill Duggins, Tony Lazenby, and

Roger Hooks. Others in attendance were Tom Crumrine, and Horse Thief representative

Tammy Ramirez.

The minutes of the June 3, 2003 meeting were read and approved as submitted.

The treasurer's report was approved as submitted. A copy is attached to these minutes.

OLD BUSINESS: Discussion was held regarding the Father's Day Tournament and the board felt that, in the future, the men's club will not sponsor a tournament that includes mostly general public and not men's club members. Bill Duggins made a motion to pay additional expenses for the Father's Day Tournament, which was seconded by Steve Cherry. Discussion followed with the general consensus that the tournament must be better coordinated with the men's club board of directors if the men's club is to help with tournament expenses. The board voted unanimously to reimburse Carlos Lillywhite for the entire bill for the tournament.

Discussion was held regarding the course condition and board members felt it was much improved since the meeting in June. The board discussed a work day to fill the many divots on the course and the subject will be discussed with the men's club members.

NEW BUSINESS: President Cherry reported the men's club currently has 128 members and that the board needs to begin looking for three new board members for next year. President Cherry selected Jay Taylor to begin the search.

A brief discussion was held concerning the annual business meeting/dinner and where it would be held. President Cherry will discuss the matter with Social Chairman Jack Buss and the subject will be discussed at the August board meeting.

TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN: Tom Crumrine reported the President's Cup was in progress and would probably be completed by July 6th.

Tom also reported the member-guest tournament is coming up in August and more participants are needed. He gave a breakdown of the entry fee per team for the tournament:

Golf $60

Prizes $60

2 Breakfasts $15

2 Dinners $40

Team Prizes $25

Total $200

The next meeting of the board will be August 5, 2003 at 9:30 A.M. at the Horse Thief Country Club.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 A.M.
