Minutes of board Meeting

        Place:               Horse Thief Country Club
 
        Meeting was called to order by President Jay Taylor. Board Members in attendance were Jay Taylor, Bob Jones, Tony Lazenby, Bill Duggins, Jim Walker and Roger Hooks. Others in attendance were Steve Cherry, Jim Jackson, Jack Buss, Tom Crumrine and Tammy Rameriz.
 
        The minutes of the previous meeting of September 2, 2003 were read by Bill Duggins for all present. The minutes were approved unanimously.
 
        Treasure's Report: Tony Lazenby read the treasure's report. A motion to approve the report was made by Roger Hooks, seconded by Bill Duggins and the motion was approved.
 
        Business: There was a discussion to raise the dues by $5.00, from the current $45.00 to $50.00. Roger Hooks moved to reject the increase, Jim Walker seconded the motion. The motion was carried with the result that there will be no increase in the dues.
 
        Jay Taylor stated that the membership renewal form and payment must be returned by January 22, 2004. Steve Cherry will take care of the forms, envelopes and postage. Jim Walker moved to have Steve Cherry reimbursed for expenses incurred; Roger Hooks seconded the motion. Motion paused.
 
        Jim Walker reported he contacted the Lodge at Woodward West for dinner costs, and also Oak Tree Club for dinner costs for the Men's Club Christmas dinner. He reported cost at the Lodge would be $28.51 and at Oak Tree the coast would be $21.25 for a steak dinner. The date available at Oak Tree would be December 4( Thursday ). Live music or CS;s was discussed. A motion to hold the dinner at Oak Tree was made by Bob Jones and seconded by Roger Hooks. The motion was carried. Jim Walker will provide the recorded music. A $50.00 advance is required by Oak Tree to reserve the date. All agreed to deposit.
 
       Tournament Business: Jim Jackson agreed to be the new membership and handicap chairman.
 
        There was a discussion concerning SCGA rules not being adhered to during the Men's Club weekly tournaments. The issue was not yet resolved.
 
        Tammy Rameriz discussed the laying-off of several of the golf course staff and possible problems that might arise due to the decrease in staff. She also raised a question concerning the tee times for tournament and men's club play. Monday, Wednesday and Friday tee times will be 9:00 AM.
 
        Jack Buss discussed his meeting with the SCGA, and also suggested that anyone getting a "Hole in one" should contact him so that their name can be submitted to Fore Magazine for acknowledgment of the accomplishment.
 
       Adjournment: President Jay Taylor moved that the meeting will be adjourned if there was no more new business. All board members seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
 
        The meeting was adjourned at 10:22AM
    
        The next meeting will be the first Tuesday in November at 9:30AM.
