MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING

 

 

DATE:     Tuesday, November 2, 2004

 

Time:       9:00a.m.

 

Place:      19th HOLE

 

 

 The meeting was called to order by President Jim Walker.  Board members in attendance were Jim Walker, Bill Duncan, Chris Wieland, Dave Thierult, Glen Simpson, John Ehret, and Bob Jones.  Also in attendance were Bill Duggins, Steve Cherry, and Tom Crumrine.

 

The minutes of the meeting on October 5, 2004, were read.  One correction was requested by John Ehret.  The previous balance should have been $3,247.99.  The minutes were then accepted.

 

TREASURER'S REPORT:  The treasurer's report was submitted by John Ehret and handed out to the board members.  John submitted a balance of $3,195.99.  The report was approved.

 

NEW BUISNESS:   Jim Walker reported the Tehachapi High School Golf Team requested financial support. The discussion and vote was put off until the December meeting.  Tom Crumrine brought up the price of junior memberships and the price of multi-club memberships. Tom stated he will check with the S.C.G.A. as to what the price of junior memberships should be.  Steve Cherry said Horse Thief  M.C. has charged the $45.00 fee to adult members.  If they have multi-club status and the other club is their primary club the S.C.G.A. will refund the difference to H.T.M.C. and H.T.M.C. can reimburse the member.  The board agreed to continue this policy.

 

OLD BUISNESS:

 

VENUE:  Dave Thierult reported back to the board about changing venues.  He stated it would cost approximately $1,500.00 for an insurance policy to use the C.S.D. board room.  Dave also checked into using the lodge however he said there is not enough staff available.  The meetings will continue to be held at the 19th hole. 

 

COMMITTEES REPORT:

 

FRIDAY TOURNAMENTS: Tom Crumrine and Dave Thierult will continue to run the Friday tournaments as well as Monday and Wednesday.  Tom stated Guidelines for the Friday tournaments are posted on the bulletin board outside the pro-shop. 

 

MONTHLY TOURNAMENT:  The schedule for the monthly tournaments is posted on Steve Cherry's web site.  The first scheduled tournament is the Super Bowl Scramble on Sunday January 30, 2005.  Steve's web site is  http://home.inreach.com/scherry

 

HANDICAP:  Jim Walker reported the S.C.G.A. has a new computer program which will allow faster updates of the handicaps.  Tom Crumrine stated the updates were available on the first.  As of this day 67 members have not returned their 2005 applications.  Jim Walker and Bill Duncan will call them so the roster can be finalized.

 

SOCIAL :  Glenn Simpson stated a full sit down dinner is available at the lodge for the Christmas dinner.  The prices are $23.61 for prime rib and $18.64 for chicken.  The dinner includes vegetables and potatoes.  Glenn stated he was also talking to the ownership about having the dinner in the 19th hole.  The board voted to have the dinner at the lodge.  The dinner will be on Friday, December 17th.  The dinner will be limited to the first 60 to sign up.  The final list must be submitted to the lodge by December 7th to allow for preparation of the menu.

 

ADJOURNEMENT:  A motion to adjourn was made by Jim Walker. All approved.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:55a.m.  The next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 7th, 2004, at the 19th hole.
