Siskyou SAR members "off-load" fall victim on
Mt. Shasta north face.

Rescue of 3 fall victims on Mt. Shasta, 1996. One of three climbers traversing the Hotlum glacier on the north face of Mt. Shasta fell. Unable to arrest his fall and reaching the end of the tether, the other two climbers are unable to stand and are pulled down the icefield. All three sustained major injuries and were packaged on location and relay transported to a local hospital.

Utilized in this rescue where 3 helicopters: CHP H14 based in Redding, Ca., H-One, medivac helo also based in Redding, Ca., and a US Army Blackhawk (pictured). The rescue operation took just over 6 hours.
