The Baby Doll Murders" (1993) ... Jeff Kober as Det. Louis Benz.

Plot:  A killer is hunting women and leaving a broken baby doll beside each victim's body. Can the police discover the connection between the victims before he kills again?
 

Character Synopsis: Detective Benz is a good cop "on a mission."  Convinced a recently released criminal is responsible for the murders, he is not above pushing hard on the ex-con to get a confession.  When the con slaps him with harassment charges, Benz is suspended from the force.  But, convinced he is right, he continues investigating until he finds a surprising connection between the victims.

This is a nice movie. Not great -- nice. The story is a little formulaic and predictable.  I think there wasn't enough dramatic tension written into the script.  However, Jeff is good in this, as is John Saxon as his police chief.  However, this is a good movie for a rainy day indoors. -- songbird
