Plot: Six
terrorists take control of a high school
campus and prepare to launch a missile aimed
at a nuclear power plant. Why? To rob the
local federal currency incinerator.
Character Synopsis: Luther is the
leader of a
group of bank robbers who are real nut jobs.
Nuke a town to steal unhindred? Hmmm. In one
sense he is in control . . . he doesn't lose his
temper or become distracted. But there is
definitely something wrong with someone willing
to create massive death just to cover his trail.
Best Line: Luther -- "If I was counting
on luck I would have voted Libertarian."
Well, I've seen this movie and it isn't very
satisfying to watch-- even with Jeff. None of the characters are developed very
well. That doesn't mean there is a lot of bad acting -- just some. Jeff, is,
naturally, quite good in this ... although not much was required of him (fire those
writers!) He did manage to bring some nuance to the role, and surprised a laugh out
of me with the movie's best line (above). And in one scene, there was some
"twisted banter" between Jeff and his female partner that was very
good. They breathed some life into otherwise stereotyped, one-dimensional
characters. At least the director couldn't screw that up. An "artificial
action" picture. And it's bad enough that some "kid" takes out six
armed nut-case adults . . . isn't a nuclear blast a little much for a robbery? -- songbird
