Worship, the Heart of Ministry
Sundays (fall schedule)
10:30 am - Worship (blended elements from alternative & traditional)
- Growing with God Kid's Worship
Worship is the central
pillar of any community of faith, and this is true of the United Congregational
Christian Church. We currently
gather for worship each Sunday 10:30 am.
Nothing we do is more important than worship; but worship in itself is
not enough to nurture and nourish the life of faith.
In addition to worship, therefore, the following programs are offered to
satisfy the needs of all ages:
Church School (September - May)
9:15 am - Adult Faith Enrichment Class
Faith Enrichment Program (September - May)
Study courses are offered throughout the church year on topics ranging from Bible study to Religions of the World, in formats ranging from book discussion to prayer groups. Special studies are also offered each year during both Advent and Lent.
Chancel Choir
Under the direction of Dr. Ola
Murchison, our Chancel Choir performs weekly in worship, and, in addition, presents two to three special performances during the church
year. The choir currently rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00
pm and Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.
The D.O.G.’s (Disciples of God youth group)
The D.O.G.’s are a small yet enthusiastic youth group with a passion for having fun and a commitment to service. They gather in the D.O.G. pound each month for fun and inspiration.
Archway Shelter: Meals for the Homeless
On the third Tuesday of each month, members of UCCC gather at the Archway Shelter to prepare and serve a meal for Lodi's homeless community.
UCCC Book and Movie Club
This group meets casually and chooses a movie to see or works of contemporary or classical fiction to read and discuss. This group offers an occasion for good company and often times delicious food too!
Women’s and Men’s Groups
Fellowship and support groups are available for both women and men. Our traditional women’s groups are offered both during the day and in the evening. Our Men’s Breakfast Bible Study meets each Tuesday morning at 7:00 am, at CoCo's on Kettleman Lane.
The Mayflower Club
This seniors social group meets monthly on Saturdays for dinner, fellowship, and a special program. The group was founded over 50 years ago, but is still open to new members. For more information, CONTACT UCCC
