Questions / Answers
Q. What snes roms use the DSP chip?
A. The ones I know are Super Mario Kart and Pilot Wings. If you know any others tell me!Q. What is a DSP chip?
A. Its a special chip built into the rom cartridge that allows games to display special graphics
Q. Can you run DSP games on a Professor SF II?
A. I have tried to do this with super Mario kart. If I run the rom without the cart it freezes at the Nintendo logo screen. If I run it with the cart in the slot it runs perfectly fine. If I run pilot wings with it in it runs the 2d graphics in the menu fine until you get to the actual 3d game play you can hear all the sounds but the screen is black. Mario kart and pilot wings both use DSP 1 chips so I see no reason why pilot wings shouldn't work! I know no other DSP games to experiment on. If you know anything about this please email me!Q. What games use the FX chip?
A. There are only two I know of which are Star fox and Vortex FX.Q. What is the FX Chip?
A. Its a special chip which allows 3d in snes games. The chip is built into each cartridge.
Q. Can any console units run FX or DSP chip games?
A. The Professor SF II might be able to run DSP games, I have to check into that more. No copiers run FX games that I know of though.
